Burpees are hands down one of the best conditioning exercises. If I don't time for a workout I like to per for a 10 minute all out burpee workout. I record my personal best and keep track of it. When you do high repetitions of any exercise, the more it becomes important to ensure you are performing the biomechanics of the exercise as perfect as possible. This will also help with beating your personal records. This video below is a version of Carl Paoli's burpee mechanics. When I first tried this version, my lats were lats and traps were extremely sore. I would recommend starting at lower reps with this version before you trying a high volume set.
