Bazooka Proof Cocoa Tea

Caffeine is very well documented to increase the brain's production of dopamine.  Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that is associated with positive mooed and well being.   Caffeine is also very well known to increase serotonin which is a brain neurotransmitter that is associated with being serene. 

Chocolate is another food that increases serotonin which contains elements of phenylethylamine which stimulates the brain cells to produce dopamine.  There is also another chemical in chocolate that is called tyramine which comes from the  amino acid tyrosine and this as well stimulates the brain to produce dopamine.

One thing I do to enhance my mood is to make a cup of black tea mixed with dark chocolate.  This enhances my mood like nothing else! 

The Recipe is as below:

  1. Blend water with dark chocolate.  I either use 85% Chocolate bar or I use raw cocoa beans. Chocolate bars are highly processed and it is so much healthier to eat the raw cocoa bean instead.   If I don't have beans I use Green Black's Organic 85% chocolate bar and I use about 30 grams of this.  If I use beans I use about a handful.  I use vitamix to blend them all together.  I also add a tea spoon of coconut oil to make sure antioxidants that are fat soluble can be digested well.
  2. Then I steep black tea in a separate cup.
  3. Then I mix it all together in a large.  You want to make sure your water is not too hot so it does not don't destroy enzymes in the cocoa beans.

This is an amazing drink that will energize your body and mind.  It will make you feel like you are on cloud nine.  Feel free to add the sweetener of your choice.

 

 

 

Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte Recipe

Matcha is a super nutritious drink that was used by Buddhist Monks before meditation and the Samurai prior to battle.  It is an amazing drink that can change your mental and physical state.  

Below is a video which demonstrates how to make iced Matcha Green Tea Late.

Steps on how to make Matcha is as below:

  1. Add 1 tea spoon of matcha to a cup of choice.
  2. Add some hot water.  Make sure the water is not boiling
  3. Add a sweetener.  I suggest raw honey.
  4. Whisk it.
  5. Pour milk in a glass filled with ice.  I suggest using almond milk.  Dairy interacts with the antioxidants in Matcha and make it less bioavailable.  
  6. Add the Matcha mix to the the almond milk
  7. Add some more matcha powder on top and mix the drink.
  8. Add a straw and enjoy.

Be careful, Matcha is a powerful drink and if you have not drank it before drink with caution.
